Biography "The Blues, the "Real Blues", is a healer," says Love, "the depth and intensity of the Chicago Blues is something that took me many years to deal with, in terms of being emotionally prepared to play this music."
The A.J. Love Blues Band features Queenie McCarter on vocals, Chris Boeger on Bass, and Joey B Banks on drums. Every Tuesday night at 5:30 at the Frequency in Madison (monthly in the summer), Love and his band (along with harmonica ace Joe Nosek of the Cash Box Kings) back up Chicago Blues artists for a night of Blues. (Guests from Chicago for "Chicago Blues Tuesdays" have included John Primer, Billy Branch, Billy Flynn, Kenny "Beedy Eyes" Smith, Steve Freund, Nick Moss and many more).
Love also plays in the Oscar Wilson Blues Band.
As a guitarist, Love is strongly influenced by Muddy Waters, Eddie Taylor, John Primer, Lightnin' Hopkins, Billy Flynn and Magic Sam.
Love has toured all over the USA, and will again begin touring nationwide upon completion of his next album, including several concerts planned for New York City, Boston, Nashville, and Chicago.
