Biography
The John Masino Band is: JM- Guitar/Vocals, John Roberts- Drums, Mark Breyer- Bass/Vocals. *June/July 2011- John won both Madison, WI and Minneapolis rounds for Guitar Center's King of the Blues Contest. Former CBS recording artist, vocalist, songwriter, guitarist extraordinaire John Masino has been playing guitar and performing for most of his life...
He was a member of many popular Midwest bands including Baby Fat, Chunky Pie, Punch, Hi-Fi, Powerplay, Masino, The Rage, Neptune, Trinity James, and Clear Blue Betty. He was featured on the CBS Nemperor Records release Gregg Clemons. John has opened shows for John Mellencamp, The Tubes, Head East, Cheap Trick, Blue Oyster Cult, Quiet Riot, Foghat, Savoy Brown, Mountain, Kenny Wayne Sheppard and guitar legends Rick Derringer and Robin Trower. In the early 80s John was a session musician in New York City recording with Jon Taylor, Mark Kaufman, Susie Kirschner and many others. He frequented jam sessions in Greenwich Village and was also a semifinalist in The 1999 Memphis Jimi Hendrix Electric Guitar Competition.
